Today I’m posting a bunch of pictures I took last month at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. The color was superb! I’m so thankful to have eyes that still can see color and so thankful for a God who created color and the ability to see and enjoy it! (By the way, you can click on each photo individually to bring it up full screen.) Enjoy! 🙂
Your spring flowers are beautiful. Thanks for linking up for Wordless Wednesday! Have a terrific afternoon.

Thank you, Sarah! Sorry to take so long on this reply. I’m wondering what’s blooming up your way now. We have already had July weather in June and are getting a few days of a break. The cicadas already started singing a couple of days ago. I’ve never heard them in June before. I love to hear the nighttime music of cicadas and tree frogs.

I also have a deep appreciation of beautiful flowers. I live and work in D.C. and will frequently visit the Botanical Gardens on my lunch break and the other day I was mesmerized by the hydrangeas…pinks, purples, blues and whites. I literally could not stop looking at them. God makes beautiful things.

Yes, they are, Sara! It is a botanical garden in the area. I think the time when the azaleas are blooming is the most beautiful time of year at the gardens, even though they have beautiful flowers and other plants all year round.

Thanks, Dianne! I think one reason I love azaleas, aside from the fact that the colors are stunning, is that the bigger the bush is, the more concentration there is of that same color in one spot! 🙂

God’s creation is a beautiful subject for photography. This garden is skillfully planned and well tended. And isn’t it just like God to make a huge lavish splash of beauty here and there to get us excited about Him and to give us a preview of our coming forever home! Thanks for visiting, Lesley, and for leaving a bit of encouragement in the comments! 🙂
Blessings of God’s beauty be on you.

Hi, Deb! You’re right; God’s creation is so beautiful!
I wonder if spring is coming early this year; I saw crocuses today, the forsythia are starting to bloom, and my mom already had periwinkles blooming at her house yesterday!

Those azaleas and trees and blooms are all so lovely! It makes me even more excited for spring. Perhaps I’ll do more flower planting this year. Even though my allergies have already been crazy with the warm winter we’ve had. 🙂

I love flowers, and I love spring, too! Most of our winter has been on the warm side here, too, and a lot of spring blooms are out ahead of their normal schedule. It’s beautiful to see those splashes of color! Sorry to hear that your allergies are giving you such problems. Mine don’t kick in till later.
By the way, I love your haircut on your gravatar pic! 🙂

These are actually last years’ azalea pics. I don’t think ours are quite ready to burst into bloom yet. We’ve got cherry blossoms right now, and tulips, redbuds and some other blossoming trees that I’m not sure what they are. We’re probably a week or two away from azaleas bursting into full bloom.

Were the azaleas still in bloom when you were there, or were they finished for the year? April is my favorite month to visit there; there are so many flowering bushes and trees plus the various tulips and the iris starting toward the end of the month.
