Worship with me # 21

Hi!  I’ve taken a two-week break from posting these, but I’m back again!  Please join me in praying this prayer of thanksgiving and praise to our God!

In the morning, O Lord, I will lift up my voice to You!  And in the afternoon, and in the evening, and at night….

I praise You, Lord, because You hear my voice when I cry out to You!  I praise You because You listen, and You understand my heart’s cry!

Lord, sometimes people don’t listen to me.  It appears that I don’t have a voice with them.  I am dismissed, not listened to, and forgotten.  Perhaps they are too focused on their own thoughts and agendas.  And sometimes it feels like their agendas are more important to them than I am to them.  But then, sometimes I have been guilty of the same thing toward others.

Please forgive us, Lord, and help us to forgive one another and to get our priorities straight.  Help us to remember that people are more important to You than our agendas are and that we are supposed to be becoming more like You.

Thank You that even when we don’t feel that we have a voice in this world, or that our voice is just too small to be noticed, we can always come to You, and You enable us to have a voice before Your very throne, dear God!  How awesome You are in stooping down to listen to us when we call Your name!  You welcome us before Your throne!  You invite us, as Your children, to speak with You and seek Your grace and mercy before Your throne!

Thank You, Lord, that You are so much greater than anybody, and that You are able to pick out our cry to You amidst the cacophony of other voices on this earth in an even greater way than a mother or father recognize the cry of their child even in a noisy place!

You recognize our voice, You want to hear our voice, and You care about what we have to say whether it is something big or small.  I’m so glad that I can talk to You about even things that others would think I am wasting their time to talk about, but nothing is too insignificant for me to discuss with You because You love me that much!  You love each of us that much!

You are so good to us!  Thank You, Lord!  You deserve all our praise!

Amen

  1. Oh Ruth this is such a lovely prayer. It made me cry. Thank you for sharing it so that others can have the chance to say this to God. You have such a tender heart towards him and I love your honesty. It is so true that we are all so insecure still and will be to an extent until we meet him face to face. Yes, we feel ignored and under-valued everyday, but like you have shown here, it is such a blessing to be able to go to our heavenly father and speak plainly and humbly to him. And what a peace it brings! May I share this on my other blog please? I have a blog where I re:blog posts that I come across that I feel are amazing. Thanks.

    1. Thank you, Sharon! I’m so glad this was a blessing to you! This is number 21 in a series that I started at the beginning of this year, so feel free to go back and read and pray the others as time permits!
Yes, no problem on the reblog. I’ve got the reblog button there and would love it if your readers also visit and read and pray this prayer and the other worship prayers in the series. I would love it if others found this worship prayer a blessing, and it would bring me joy to know that they are praying these prayers of worship and growing closer to God through them!

  2. Yes, so glad that you are back again, Ruth! And thank you Lord, that you do hear our cries, even within the noise of the world’s chaos! What a precious gift of grace, to know that we are heard.

  3. Reblogged this on Light-bites For Your Heart and commented:
Hi everyone, I hope you are having a great day. I found this beautiful prayer yesterday that touched my hearts so much I just had to share it with you. It is written by a lovely lady called Ruth. Her blog is aptly named, ‘Planted by Living Water’ and that is just how I felt after reading this post: refreshed, cleansed and saturated in the love of God. It is such a humble, sweet prayer that recognises the importance of being totally honest with God about our deepest insecurities and acknowledging the need for his acceptance, rather than that of humans. I hope it blesses you as much as it did me. See you soon.
