Worship with me #22

Hello everybody! How is it going with you today? I hope it’s going well.

But you know as well as I do that sometimes life can be a struggle, and sometimes it seems like we’re losing.

Please join me in this prayer that recognizes God for His patience and mercy and love for us in spite of our failures:

Lord, I thank You that You are a Patient and Merciful God.  You don’t just tell us what to do or what not to do and then sit back waiting for us to fail.

Rather, You wait patiently for us to seek You so that You can be found by us. You actually want to have a relationship with us! You want to help us and hold us and walk with us and talk with us — in spite of the times we’ve forsaken the holy way that You desire us to walk. For even in Your desiring us to walk in Your way, You desire it because it is what’s best for us because You love us so deeply. Thank You, Lord! You deserve all our praise!

Father, even though we fail You every day, You still love us. Thank You so much for that! If we had to earn your love, we would surely fail miserably, for there is not a day that goes by that we don’t fall short of Your glory in some way or another.

Even if we don’t do something wrong, we say something wrong or hurtful. Or even if we keep our mouth shut and manage not to say something wrong, we think thoughts and have attitudes that grieve You, and we make plans without consulting You, and we omit to do the good things or say the kind or encouraging things that we should do or say.

Thank You, Lord, that You are always watching and waiting for us to recognize and admit to You the fallen and soiled state of our hearts and that You made a way before we were even born for our sins to be forgiven! Thank You for the mercy and compassion of Your heart that caused You to leave Heaven’s glory, Jesus, and become one of us in this fallen world so You could become the only Perfect Sacrifice. Thank You that, as such, You took the punishment we deserved on Yourself so You could mercifully offer us a pardon. Lord, we believe! Help our unbelief.

Draw us to Yourself. Pick us up and cleanse us from our sin. Strengthen us to walk in Your way, for apart from You we can do nothing. Help us to abide in You, Lord. For in Your loving Presence is where we want to be forever!

In  Jesus’ name we ask it.
