Welcome to week 24 of Worship with me! I invite you to pray this prayer with me, and if you would like to add the prayers that this causes to rise up in your heart in the comments below, I would love to pray them with you!
Thank You Lord for giving us family to love and be loved by. We don’t always get along like we should, but You have brought us together to love one another even in the hard times. Please forgive us for taking this gift of family for granted and for not loving one another like we should.
Thank You for making of the lonely a family. We could just be all alone. But You have surrounded us with Yourself, and with those who love us. Thank You Lord!
Thank You for summer vacation when school is out, for the opportunity to spend more time with family than during the school year. Thank You for opportunities to have conversations with our kids or parents about You.
Thank You for special times together, for fun times, for exciting times, for times of laughter. Thank You for those special times when siblings get along and even enjoy each other’s company!
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers (and sisters) to dwell together in unity.” Psalm 133:1
Thank you for photos and for the good memories that they remind us of.
Thank you also, Lord, for friends that are closer than a brother or sister, friends we can laugh with, who listen without criticism, who are willing to pray with us and even cry with us in compassion and empathy.
Lord, You have blessed us so abundantly. Thank You!
And, Lord, You are the best family member that we can ever have! Even if all else forsake us or go their separate ways, You will never leave us nor forsake us! You will keep on protecting us, providing for us, and loving us with Your “hesed” unconditional, covenant love, every day, forever! We praise Your name!
