God is De-Light-ful

I stand in the the midst of deep darkness. But I am not in the darkness myself.

The LORD is my light.

He cuts through the inky darkness from high above me, shining like a brilliant shaft of clean, white light, like a spotlight from heaven that does not diminish in its intensity as it reaches me, despite the miles it travels to get here.

A powerful enemy surrounds me in the darkness, but he cannot touch me, for the Angel of the LORD surrounds me, and no enemy has the power to get through that powerful barrier.

“Jehovah is my light and my salvation, Whom shall I fear?Β  The LORD is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?”

“Though a host encamp against me, my heart will not fear.” Psalm 27:1, 3 NASB

The enemy thinks I should be afraid, but one of God is a majority against all of them. He is my Mighty Deliverer!

“One thing have I asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty (delightfulness) of the LORD and to meditate (inquire) in his temple.” Psalm 27:4 NASB

After He pushes the darkness back a bit, I kneel in peace and gratefulness before Him. I rest in Him, for He is my dwelling place. Stooping down His giant frame, He reaches down His gentle, strong hand, tilting my chin up so I will see His smile, and His love touches my heart and gives me joy. He truly IS delightful!! How can I help but smile in return?

“But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the One who lifts my head.” Psalm 3:3 NASB

“When You said, ‘Seek My face,’ my heart said to You, ‘Your face, O LORD, I shall seek.'” Psalm 27:8 NASB

And so, LORD, I seek Your face here in this quiet place where it’s just me and You, for You have pushed the mute button on all the distractions around me as I turn my focus to You alone.

How sweet it is to know You, LORD, and to dwell in Your Presence today!
