Worship with me #33

Lord, it’s been a rough couple of months, but I thank You for being with me all the way. Circumstances have overwhelmed me often, leaving me distracted, clumsy, sleep-deprived, and sometimes depressed or fighting for a little sanity like a drowning person fights for another gulp of fresh air. But I thank You for Your promise to Your children that when we walk through the water, it will not overflow us and that when we walk through the fire, we will not be burned.

Lord, the waters have definitely been high, and not just for those in the flooded areas of post-hurricane North Carolina.  Spiritual, emotional, and circumstantial waters have also threatened many of us. But by Your grace, we have survived thus far! We are still breathing, and by Your grace we still have hope. Thank You for leading us, and for sending others to help when we just can’t do it.

I thank You, Lord, that even when my attitude has grieved You, You still loved me and helped me and treated me with gentleness and honor. Thank You that You are even now with me, that You’ve lifted me up and set my feet on dry ground, on the Rock of my Salvation, to have some brief moments basking in the sunshine of Your love. Thank You for reminding me that it is in surrendering to Your kind and merciful authority that I find peace, that it is in being grateful for Your gifts, instead of dwelling on all that has gone wrong or could go wrong, that I find joy.

I praise You, Lord, that You loved me long before I was even born. You loved me before Jesus came to this earth to save us. You saw me way back then, and You wanted me as part of Your collective Bride. You planned the heavenly wedding and the wedding feast; You paid the entire bill! There was nothing left for us (me) to do but say, “Yes!” and “I do!” Lord, You are the most precious Bridegroom ever! There’s not another that could even come close to loving me like You do, totally selflessly, protective and yet allowing freedom, always keeping Your promises, always faithful, never harsh or abusive, always looking out for my best interests, slow to anger, kind, forgiving when I offend You, ever present and available to help and listen even to my emotional or immature prattle.  Come to think of it, Lord, I suppose all of us sound like we’re immature in comparison to You, Who are the all-wise God.  Thank You that You humbly stoop down and love us anyway.

I bless You, Lord, for You are my Love, my perfect Soulmate, my Rock, the only One Whose strong arms are always quick to surround me for comfort and safety.

You are good, Lord!  Thank You for the precious smile of Your grace!

    1. Thank you, Lea! Whatever beauty I have in my heart is all thanks to God! I am just a frail human being with a big and loving Savior! Praise God that He is working in our lives to make us more like Jesus!
Keep on walking with Him, sweet sister! He loves you and delights in you!

  1. What a very real post. It sounds like a word that the Psalmist would have posted. I am sorry for all that you have gone through lately. I know how you feel, though my circumstances are different. I hadn’t had a chance to post much during the summer months because we were moving and needed housing and I prayed A LOT. And tried to remember to praise God; as it is our praise that opens heaven’s doors. Things have settled here some, just to prepare us for our next battle. We do need one another. Ephesians 5:19-21 says to, “Encourage each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord. Always give thanks to God, the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Your words are encouraging. God bless, as you continue your walk with our Lord. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Beth! Yes, you had a rough summer also. Praise God things have calmed down for you now!
I think a lot of people can relate. Most everybody either has been through rough times, is presently going through rough times, or will go through rough times in the future.
Thank you for the reminder that “it is our praise that opens heaven’s doors”. Sometimes we get so bogged down in circumstances that we forget this important concept.
Yes, we do need each other! I’m so glad for all the people who have willingly lifted me up in prayer, and I know that people were praying for you and your family, too.
I’m glad you have been encouraged here! May the Lord bless you as well! 🙂

  3. Ruth- I’ve thought about you as you’ve been caring for your parents. Praying for peace and wisdom as you take care of that situation. I always admire your beautiful heart and love for God! Thank you for sharing your worship praises on here so we can praise Him together!

Also I’ve really enjoyed the material of yours that I printed off regarding “overcoming fear” and “where I dwell”..I’ve sort of used it as a Bible study and it’s really been insightful..praise Him!

    1. Thank you so much, Alicia, for your thoughts and prayers! I still need them; our whole family does.
The only beauty in my heart is God and the fruit He is trying to grow there. It’s a good thing He is so patient and powerful, ’cause I have to repeat lessons a lot. His love for me draws me to Him. “We love Him because He first loved us.”
I love to praise God with others! Thank you for joining me here!
I’m so glad these materials have been helpful!
May God continue to bless you and help you as you journey with Him. ❤
