Overcomer Movie

Folks, this is a great movie!  I highly recommend it!

My teenage daughter and I went to see it today, and we both really liked it!

Our theater actually started showtimes for it yesterday, but the official opening day was today.

I really related to the main character even though she is a lot younger than me because there is something about dysfunction of many kinds in the family that can make a child grow up into adulthood believing lies about themselves and not really knowing who they are.

Fortunately for the main character, God puts a series of events into motion that bring her light, truth, hope, and the beginning of her healing.

That’s all I’m going to say for right now except

You’ve got to go see this movie!  You’ll be glad you did!

Oh, and after you see the movie, I’d love to have you hop back on this post and let me know what you liked the most about the movie, which character you related with the most, etc.  No spoilers for the ones who haven’t seen it yet, though!

P.S.  In case any of you are wondering, this is my honest opinion.  Nobody asked me to write this up, and I’m not getting paid for it.

  1. This was a great movie! My family and I watched it last night and it was amazing. Even my gran stayed up throughout the entire movie! The lessons were so rich, the presence of God from the screen was strong – must see movie! I join in this announcement, Ruth!

  2. We saw the movie as it was something I wanted to do for my birthday! I love what they did with the final race ❤ I appreciate the various dynamics they showed. Marriage. A past sinner. Those struggling with sins of the heart and giving over that control to the Lord. The director describes the movie as its main message is finding our identity in Christ, and I love how they show that in various ways ❤
