Lord, I want to thank You today for some of the things that You are NOT.

Thank You that You are not mean or abusive. Thank You that You are not a bully.

Thank You that You are not impatient or easily angered. Thank You that You are not mischievous, inflicting harm on people for a laugh.

Thank You that You are not a mocker, that You’re not proud or egotistical, and that You don’t spew hateful words at people or make hateful faces or gestures at them.

Thank You that You don’t dismiss us or push us away, and You’re never too busy to listen.

Thank You that You don’t tell lies about people or fabricate false stories to make them look bad and Yourself look good.

Thank You that You are not unjust or unfaithful and that You never leave us nor forsake us.

Thank You that You are not weak or insignificant, and yet, You took on a body and lived on earth long enough to be treated as though You were by the people You created, so You DO understand what it feels like to be treated all these ways.

Thank You, Jesus, that You did not change Your mind about going to the cross to take the punishment for the sins of all humankind.

Thank You that You did not leave us without a Savior or without hope.

Thank You that you never break Your promises, including Your promise to someday come back to take us home to live with You forever!
