Today I am thankful for rest.
I’ve been going, and going, and going since May, and once in a while I just have to rest.
A couple of weekends ago, my cousin came for a short visit from France, and I so anticipated and enjoyed having him that I walked almost 15 miles in two days time! The night after he left, I broke my toe, and God let me know it was time to get a little rest.
So I rested for about three days, then started hobbling around faster and faster in my post-op boot (LOL) till a few days ago I walked almost 4 1/2 miles in one day. Last night my foot hurt and was inflamed just above the toe that I broke, so today I rested again.
Resting is a time for healing, for relaxing, for reading, for regrouping, for putting our trust in God, for meditating on God’s goodness, and for leaving our concerns at His feet.
Rest is good! It’s God’s idea!
Yes, I’m thankful for rest.
How about you? How does rest look for you?
Thankful that today I have nowhere I have to go – and no car to go in even if I did! I am forced to stay home and rest – yay!
