Day 8 of 365 Days of Thanks

You know, we have so much for which to be thankful. We could probably sit down and write 50 or a hundred things in one sitting if we really tried.

But sometimes when everything seems gray and cold and we become wearied by the trials of life, a fog seems to descend on our spirit, and being thankful seems to take much more of an effort.

That’s when I go to my favorite spot in the house where my Bible lies open, that place where my spirit rejoices with the anticipation of a sweet talk with my Best Friend in the whole world, the Lord Himself!

Today, I’m thankful to be a child of God, that He wants to be known, and meets with me through the pages of His Word and talks with me, as He does with all of His children who take the time to listen.

What are you thankful for today?

  1. I too am thankful to be in relationship with the King of Kings. He loves, equips, and makes a way where there seems to be no way. I am experiencing how well joy works in the midst of trouble, and (though this isn’t my first go-around with joy in trouble) it is always life-giving, and life altering. I am grateful for His faithfulness, goodness, and eternal love for us all. ♥

    1. Yes, Jacquie! He is a good and faithful God!
Isn’t it amazing how His commands are meant to give us life when we obey?! Our natural response to hardships includes self-pity. But that sinks us deeper, whereas rejoicing brings us up!
Thanking the Lord with you, for He is worthy to be praised!
