Hello everyone! How are you today? What is the weather like now where you live?
I brought in the rest of the cucumbers, large green tomatoes, and 2 small zucchini before the cold rain started this evening. The freeze is only a little more than 24 hours away.
Whenever the cold weather comes again where I live, I again remember to be thankful that I have not only a roof over my head, but also walls surrounding me to keep the cold elements out and the heat in!
Today, I am thankful for our home.
How about you? What are you thankful for today?
Our weather is raining hard and we have freeze warnings too. Iām hoping it stops today so we can still have our Fall Festival at church tonight. Also super thankful for our home that keeps us warm and dry. Your blogs are a wonderful way to remind us that we sometimes overlook the most important things that should fill our hearts with thankfulness daily. Blessings to you, Ruth!

Having a hard time being thankful today, so I think that means I need to be thankful today.
Thankful that I have a home and can live in it, that I haven’t been evacuated to a gym. Thankful that it is surrounded by trees in their beautiful fall foliage. Thankful for a good roof on which I can hear the cozy rain.

Yes, the Lord knew we would have those hard times. I think He wouldn’t have had to tell us to be thankful if it just came naturally. So, it seems we must make a daily effort to be thankful. I’m hoping that making this effort daily for 365 days will make it become easier. But even a good habit has to be practiced with effort for us to “keep in shape” whether it be in the physical, spiritual, mental, or emotional realms.
Yes, it’s funny how rain can be cozy when we’re safe and warm inside, as opposed to being outside getting drenched in it! š
God continue to bless you as you walk with a thankful heart! He is and always will be wonderful!

Iām thankful that we got to visit our grandchildren and that we got home safely. A trip that should have taken about 4 1/2 hours ended up taking over 7 because of construction and the rain.

Praise God for the sweet time you got to spend with your grandchildren! I’m glad you made it home safely, too! Those long delays are no fun, in my opinion. Did they take you on a detour? Or was the traffic just super slow through construction zones?

The traffic was super slow in the construction zone that went on for about 15 miles, with traffic lights, too. Thanks for your kind words!

Yes, that’s hard. I once traveled 5 miles in one hour in a city construction zone around midnight. I would much prefer a detour; I prefer moving a longer distance over sitting trapped on the main thoroughfare.
