“You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness.
That my soul may sing praise to you and not be silent.” Psalm 30:11,12
I find it interesting how the psalmist refers to mourning and gladness as things we are clothed with. It looks to me like maybe we put on our own clothing of mourning, but we need to go to Him to help us take off that clothing of mourning and let Him clothe us with gladness.
This doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t take the time to mourn, but rather that, by His gift of “new clothes”, we don’t have to stay in it forever!
God girds us with gladness so that our
“soul may sing praise to (Him) and not be silent”!
Today I’m thankful for God’s gift of the clothing of gladness, and that, with His help, we can “change clothes” and let go of the clothing of mourning.
With His help we can choose to rejoice, no matter what our circumstances are!
What about you? Have you gone to the Lord and put in your request for these amazing new clothes? ☺
The Lord bless you and keep you and make His face shine upon you and give you peace!
