Day 39 – Thankful for God’s Provision

These past few months we’ve had to tighten the proverbial belt because there have been so many unexpected expenses.

Have you ever been there?

We’ve had:

  • Wisdom teeth extractions,
  • Root canal &
  • Crown,
  • Necessary travel expenses,
  • Urgent care visit,
  • College expenses,
  • And an ailing refrigerator that needs to be replaced but is being encouraged to hang in there just a while longer.

As I explained in God smooths our path, we also just got a diagnosis from a geneticist for my daughter’s health problems that she’s been having. The geneticist ordered genetic testing that is reported to be expensive.

Well, the other day we got something in the mail, and I nervously and prayerfully opened it, trying not to be worried that it was another big bill.

It was a letter about the genetic testing informing us that

I can still hardly believe it!

And if you read “Thankful God Smooths Our Path”, you also know the story of how God went before me and got a phone bill reduced from $229 to $22.38!

A lot of people believe that a job with a salary is the only way God provides. My experience has been that this is simply not true.

I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I went to fill my gas tank at the right time, when the price was at its lowest per gallon.

There were also the times when everything I needed on my grocery list was on sale.

Or the time I needed warm pajama pants and decided not to buy them for the $13 that the store wanted for one pair. Not long after that the Lord had me stop at a yard sale where I found and bought 5 better-quality pair, which have lasted for years, for $1 apiece!

These are just a few examples of how God has provided for us.

So, today I am thankful for my husband’s job, for the $0 copay, for the reduced phone bill, and for all the other ways God has provided, and will continue to provide for our needs!

19 “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 NASB

Notice, He provides out of the unlimited supply of HIS riches in glory. What do we need to fear?

What about you? Do you have a testimony of how God has provided for you?
