If God were as patient with us as we are with each other, I suppose He would have destroyed the world long before the flood of Noah’s day.
It seems like we can manage to see the faults of others so much easier than we see our own, and we want them to change right now! But when others ask us to change, we want them to be patient with us.
We want God to change those other people and even go so far as to doubt His goodness and power if He doesn’t do it on our timetable. Could it be that we are impatient with God?! Oh dear!
But, as much as I wish He would hurry and fix all the problems in the world, I sure am glad He’s patient with me!
Perhaps we should stop being such hypocrites (just saying) and let God do unto others as we want Him do for us and stop being so impatient with Him!
Today I am thankful that God is patient with me. I’m thankful that He is the one who is God and not some impatient person.
How about you? Do you ever get impatient with God when He isn’t answering your prayer as fast as you want Him to? Are you thankful that He’s patient with you?
“The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”
