Day 65 – Thankful for new friends

Friday evening my husband and I went to his work party which was hosted by the big boss and his wife.

I went there with a better attitude after God had showed me my fault the night before and reminded me that His plan for me is wonderful, and I need to keep an eye out for where He is working.

There were still a lot of unknowns, like

  • How to find the house, since we’d never been there before,
  • How many people would be there,
  • Would it be crowded,
  • Who would be there, and
  • Would they serve any food that I could eat with my dietary restrictions?

We found the house without getting lost!

It was a bit crowded once everyone arrived, but not uncomfortably so. And everyone was polite and helpful when we moved about the house for whatever reason.

They had some food I could eat!Β  Yay! That’s always a plus! πŸ™‚

And I made a new friend!Β  We had such a wonderful time getting to know each other!

It’s pretty amazing how God works to make sure that two people meet who would otherwise never have met!

His plans and purposes are so perfect, so good, so intricate, and so amazing!

I’ve also been amazed at how some of us in the blogging community have been able to become friends!Β  That’s another facet of finding friends that we never would have met in any other way!

So, today I’m thankful for new friends and for our God who is doing such an intricate weaving of our lives together into a gorgeous tapestry using the valuable “strands” that He’s gathered from distant, exotic, wonderful places on this earth that He has created!

“that their hearts may be encouraged as they are knit together in love,”Β  Colossians 2:2 RSV

This verse expresses it so well!Β  Being knit together in love with our brothers and sisters is sure to encourage our hearts and theirs!

May the Lord fill us with His Holy Spirit and help us to love one another with sincere hearts, overcoming our fleshly tendencies, so that we might be an encouragement for one another!

What about you?Β  How has the Lord brought you to just the right place at the right time to bring you friends and encourage your hearts?Β  Are you thankful for new friends? Are you thankful for how God’s plans are so perfect?Β  Do you believe that God has wonderful plans for your life?

  3. I’ve been steadily making new friends and connections the last few years. I met new neighbors by taking walks on the roads around our new home, became part of a reading group at our new library when I stopped by one morning to return a book, found a new church where being in the right places in the Lord’s timing has led me to many new friends who have introduced me to good connections. I’m thankful for the ability to hear what the Spirt’s saying and to follow where he leads. I began my blog journey with a happy little accidental stumbling into WordPress and have connected with many blogging friends I appreciate ☺️ thanks for sharing your experience πŸ™‚
