Days 74 – Thankful for humor

Three days ago my husband made a bonfire, since the weather was warm enough, and we have some wood that really needs to be burned. We spent a little time together just sitting by the fire, enjoying the time together.

After awhile, he decided that it was time to let the fire just burn down, and at about 2:30 in the afternoon, he said he was going to the grocery store.

I know that he dislikes crowds as much as I do, so I told him it would be crowded, but he decided to go anyway.

When he got back, I asked him, “So, was it crowded?

“No,” he said. “There were only 5 people there!”

“No way!” I didn’t believe that for a minute! But he kept on insisting, not cracking a smile the whole time. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Then he finally admitted that he didn’t even go into the store when he saw how crowded the parking lot was! Lol ๐Ÿ˜†

So, he chose to go instead to the farmer’s market down the street, and yes, apparently there were only 5 people there! I know where I’ll be going for those last-minute things from now on! ๐Ÿ˜

So, that day, and still today, I was and am thankful for humor and the ability to be lighthearted and find humor in everyday occurrences.

What about you? Are you thankful God gives us the gift of humor? What is something that had made you laugh lately?

  1. I am so thankful God has given us the gift of humor…well some are more blessed with it than others. I’m not usually too witty but God blessed me with a daughter that is and expresses it well. I am thankful for the laughter she and my husband bring to our family. Laughter is definitely good for the soul.

    1. Yes, it’s okay. We all can share our gifts with each other, and when the ones who love to joke around share that gift, then everyone has the opportunity to laugh with them! And that is, for sure, a good reason to be thankful! Yes, it is good for the soul! Perhaps that is one reason God told us to rejoice in everything! He said His burden is light, and when we go through trials rejoicing and laughing, it seems to take away some of the heaviness that threatens to take us down and keep us there. God wants to lift us up, and I think sometimes He uses humor and laughter to do it! ๐Ÿ˜€
May God bless you with lots of laughter in this coming new year!
