Monday was my daughter’s first appointment with the pain clinic. Just as we had done a few months ago before her appointment with the geneticist, we prayed and asked the Lord to give us a smooth and safe trip and to give the doctor’s wisdom, and He answered our prayers!
Our trip went well! There were no traffic problems, and we found a good parking place. It’s a really big place, but the people who work there were friendly and helped us find the office.
The doctor was really nice; we also saw the physical therapist, the nurse practitioner, and a psychologist. Everything went well, and we have a plan now. It’s nice to have a team of professionals that care about my daughter and want to help her get better!
We hope that this will be the beginning of things getting back to normal and my daughter can get back to doing more school work and catch up with some of the things that she’s been struggling with because of all the pain and other problems that go hand in hand with it.
Toward the end of our 3-hour visit, we started getting hungry. At some point, I wondered what I had done with my good travel mug, and figured that I had left it in the car. Fortunately, the kind receptionist saw me when we were done. She remembered that the travel mug, which I had left there on the counter, was mine and kindly gave it to me!
On our way home, we celebrated a hope-producing pain clinic visit by having a delicious late lunch together.
Your experience made me think immediately of I Thessalonians 5:18, “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Gratitude truly does open doors for God to move. Blessings, and I’m so thankful all went well for your daughter and you.

That’s a great verse! I believe God commands us to do this for our own good, as well as for the good of those around us and for His glory.
Yes! That’s a great way to put it, “open doors for God to move!”
Thank you! Me too! 😊

Your thankfulness is such a good example to me. Thank you! I pray that your daughter will soon see benefit from the care she’s receiving there. Enjoying a delicious meal together is a sweet way to spend doctor days together! Blessings to you and your daughter! By the way, my daughter is a geneticist. 🙂

Thank you! ❤ It’s still a work in progress; the Lord knew I needed to be writing this all down to help me remember.
Thank you for your prayers! Yesterday was good. Today she got a headache. It will take a while to get it all in order.
Yes, I agree!
Thank you, and blessings to you, too!
Cool! I didn’t used to even know that such a profession existed, but I’m sure glad it does! It’s so helpful to know what’s wrong before trying to make it better!

Genetics is a picture into how God made us, unique and special. It’s so amazing what our DNA tells about us.

We may never know this side of heaven how much it helps a child to have a whole team of people dedicated to helping him/her. God bless those angels!
