Day 105 – Thankful for my husband’s sense of humor

One of the things that I’ve liked about my husband from the beginning has been his sense of humor. He comes up with these one-liners that make me laugh because they are so unexpected.

Sometimes I try to remember the funny things he says so I can tell a friend, but I should have written them down. I only remember the funny things he’s said if he’s said them several times.

Like how he used to respond randomly to questions by saying, “Chickens and ostriches”.

Or how he sings, “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Aardvarks”. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

So, a couple of weeks ago, I decided to start writing down his funny sayings.

So far, I have a list of one. ๐Ÿ˜

He was having troubles one day deciding what to wear, and out comes the following quip:

“I have nothing to wear but wear itself!”

This evening he put an envelope of money on the bed for me. This is not actually unusual, but what was unusual was that the amount was way more than I expected. I was sure that the bank teller must have made a mistake, even though I’ve never known such a thing to happen! They are human, after all, I reasoned out loud. He played right along like he didn’t know a thing till I said that, of course, he’d have to let the bank know.

Then he reminded me that he had promised to pay for my new tires, and that’s what the big extra amount was for! Ohhh! Haha! Now I get it! Lol ๐Ÿ˜†

Today I’m thankful for the way my husband makes me laugh.

And I am thankful for the laughter that comes because of the joy of the Lord who gives me strength!

Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
The LORD has done great things for them.’” Psalm 126:2 NIV

“…the joy of the LORD is your strength.

  1. Lovely post! I know exactly what’s going to pop into my head the next time I look into my closet and feel like I haven’t got anything to wear! Haha!
Humour is great. Like they say… A day without laughter is a day wasted. I just did a post on my blog about my favourite Belizean proverbs. I find them to be quite funny. Would you mind giving it a read and telling me what you think.
