Yesterday’s predicted snowstorm did not happen. We did have just a small dusting of sleet.
So last night I prayed that the Lord would give us just enough snow to cover things a little bit and make it look more beautiful.
This morning I woke up to this exact answer!
Why would God answer such a prayer? Maybe because He can? Maybe because He loves us and wants to wow us? Maybe because He delights in our excitement over His answer!
Sometimes we get discouraged because it seems like He isn’t answering our prayer.
I’m reminded by today’s answer to my prayer that He really hears all my prayers and is in the process of answering each one. Sometimes He is saying no if we are asking “amiss” (James 4:3) and sometimes He is saying wait.
Maybe it would be helpful if we looked at some of our prayer requests as projects to be completed instead of as immediate miracles to happen overnight.
Since God made us in His image, and we undertake projects that take a while to complete, why should we not expect that He may sometimes do the same?
Let’s put our full trust in Him as the project manager and worker and completer, and wait patiently and expectantly for His unveiling ceremony!
And remember, He is the one who gets final say on the blueprint. If it’s not exactly as we expected, we can be sure that it will be even better!
“I am confident that the Creator, who has begun such a great work among you, will not stop in mid-design but will keep perfecting you until the day Jesus the Anointed, our Liberating King, returns to redeem the world.” Philippians 1:6 VOICE
Today I am thankful for answered prayer! I’m thankful for the excitement of immediate answers, and I’m thankful for the projects that God is working on in my behalf. I’m thankful that He’s taking His time, doing it right, and that it will be more amazing than I can imagine when the unveiling ceremony takes place!
What about you? Do you get discouraged about what appears to be unanswered prayer? Did you ever consider that God is working on it behind the scenes? What speaks to you the most from the above ideas?
I love it when we get answered prayers! Oh those “just wait” answers though….
Beautiful pics!

Yes! It is in the waiting that we get the opportunity to draw near to the One who loves us unconditionally. It may be that sometimes we only see that WE are waiting when HE is also waiting for us to come near.
Thank you! God bless you with His very dear nearness!

With the prayer request I have now I am working on seeing God behind the scenes. His timing has always been perfect. I want to praise Him for what I do not see.

Yes! We may not see with our eyes, but with eyes of faith we see and know that He is working even now! You’re right to praise Him, for this invites His mighty presence!

I enjoy this. I am in the process of understanding why things are happening and why people are acting this way but struggling with the timing in which they are choosing to handle the way they treat me. I have been praying a lot for the release of this situation and making amends. Waiting patiently speaks to me in this moment. Blessings!

Yes! One of the hardest things to wait for is for God to change other people’s hearts. We can and should pray spiritual blessings for them. God will work and offer those blessings to them, but He still gives them the choice to receive or refuse. In the meantime, we also must make our choices to follow the Lord and learn from Him even if they do not. He will give us wisdom in what to do and what to pray if we ask Him for it (James 1:5).
I’m so glad this blessed you! Thanks, and blessings to you as well!

I thank God for answering a small prayer request of mine recently. Sometimes I am in awe at how He answers prayers – whether small or big – but I am always thankful.
