Day 133 – Thankful for Helpful School Officials

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it in a post before today, but at the beginning of this school year, my youngest daughter asked me to homeschool her. I said yes, and I’ve been homeschooling her as a satellite of the base school that she has attended in the past.

There are several good things about this arrangement. With all of her headaches, TMJ, and other pain episodes, her sleep disturbances, digestive troubles, fatigue, and doctor’s visits, we have been able to work her school work around everything instead of having to be on a fixed schedule.

The downside is that it has taken so long for her to have relief from these problems, that there have been times when she was not getting enough work done. She is making good grades, but has slowed down more than she should.

The good news is that when I talked with the assistant principal yesterday, she gave me permission to homeschool my daughter over the summer in order to finish up that which is lacking. It was so good to speak with this official and find in her an understanding, kind, and helpful spirit.

Today I am thankful for this helpful and kind school official!

I’m thankful for the permissions that she has granted.

I’m thankful for this solution to a problem that I didn’t know how to solve.

And I’m thankful, once again, that God has it all under control and is leading us and guiding us in the way we should go.

How about you? Are you thankful for solutions to difficult problems? Are you thankful that God has it all under control? Are you thankful that He is wise and leads and guides His children?

  1. Iā€™m always thankful for Godā€™s working in my life, usually when I least expect it. Iā€™m glad that you worked out the pacing with the principal. Understanding officials are a blessing from the Lord!

  2. Oh praise God for the cooperation from the school officials. God is so good to let us know that He is with us through every process. This morning I was able to schedule an appointment with a new specialist for 7 months from now. Her normal wait time is 9 months to a year–so I was very thankful! He does hold our days in His hands. Blessings to you and your family, Ruth!

      1. Thanks, Ruth! Those little twins are growing and changing already. Sometimes I can tell them apart in the photos, and other times they look too identical to see the difference! So cute. šŸ™‚
