This morning my daughter and I got up and ran a few errands. Then we went to the gym and worked out.
The day’s mistiness turned into rain, so some of our errands had to be run using the umbrella. My daughter’s umbrella is purple; we both really like it, and we had fun walking together under it to get our errands completed.
We finished what we had to do and stopped in at Chick-fil-A. She enjoyed a couple of sandwiches, and I ate a large waffle fries.
I enjoy fries, but I can’t eat them at most restaurants because most restaurants do not make them gluten-free. You would think that fries are made of potatoes and should be gluten-free, but such is not always the case. Some restaurants actually put wheat in their fries! Others use real potatoes, but they fry them up in fryers that are also used to fry things breaded with wheat. This causes cross-contamination from the wheat to the french fries.
So, from time to time, I like to go with my daughter and get a large waffle fries from Chick-fil-A, because their fries are gluten-free. I also enjoy dipping my fries in their honey roasted barbecue sauce. Yum! π
Today I am thankful for the ability to run errands and for good times with my daughter.
I’m thankful for access to the gym.
I’m thankful for her purple umbrella!
And I’m thankful for gluten-free waffle fries and honey roasted barbecue sauce.
What about you? Are you thankful to have the strength and transportation to run errands? Are you thankful for umbrellas on rainy days? What is your favorite color? What color is your umbrella? Do you like french fries, and if so, do you dip them? Do you have any food allergies that limit where you can eat?
I love purple and Chick-Fil-A. πAfter
I’m allergic to bananas and possibly shrimp. π

I love people too, though burgundy is actually my favorite. π
Bummer on the allergies! It makes it so much harder to eat out and in groups; so many people who don’t have any food allergies just don’t understand. Do you have to have an EpiPen?

No, I just carry Benadryl with me at all times and I always have it on hand at home. Thankfully, my symptoms have never gone beyond horrible itching, turning red and coughing.
One of my brothers has food allergies and I understand his throat will pretty much close up.

That’s good that you’re able to have something that works for you and have it available at all times!
Ooh, no fun (understatement, I know). Sorry you have to go through that! π₯
That would be scary if the throat closed up so much…π¬ I hope he takes care of himself.
God bless you, sweet sister. π

Have you seen the movie, “Hitch”? Will Smith is so funny when he is trying to impress a woman and has an allergic reaction to food. His character ends up freaking out and downing liquid Benadryl.

No, I’ve not seen it, but I can almost imagine it! Lol

Oooooh, I use to go crazy over Chic-fil-a’s waffle fries for that same reason, but now I can’t have potatoes.π₯Ί

I love those waffle fries. I dip them in either Polynesian sauce or the Chick-fil-A sauce π
I also love walking in the rain with my rain boots. Wish I had a pink umbrella (my fav color) to go with it.

Hi, Deandra! I’m glad you commented! My daughter LOVES Chick-fil-A sauce, and I’ve never tried it! You’re comment made me look it up, and both that one and the Polynesian sauce are listed as gluten-free! I’ll have to try them next time I go there! π
I don’t have any rain boots. Do you have any good yard sales or thrift shops where you live? If so, you might pray for the Lord to lead you to the right place at the right time for a pink umbrella at the right price. The purple umbrella is a really nice one! We bought it for $2 at a thrift shop. π God is good! π

Ruth. Ruth. Ruth!
You are a woman after my own heart. Faithful. Full of faith. True. Simple. And frugal.
I say Amen and Amen to that prayer. I have thrift stores near me, I just havenβt gotten the time or chance lately to go. I usually go on when they have $1 days but life has been too busy. I havenβt seen much yard sales lately. Lord, we thank You for rain boots for Ruth and a pink umbrella for me ππ½ππ½
Iβm so glad that the sauces are gluten free. Who says Abba isnβt interested in what we are or doesnβt know how to give good gifts? They sure havenβt met the Daddy we know. β€οΈβ€οΈ

Aww, thanks for the encouraging words, sister! π€
Yes, when the time is right, the Lord will lead you there.
Where I live, the yard sales pretty much stop from some time in October through the beginning of April (because of the weather).
Amen! Thanks for the prayer! π
Yes, He is much more interested in us than we can even imagine! And we know He certainly does give good gifts! ππ

Understandably so. No once wants to stand outside for hours in the cold for short days unnecessarily π

I donβt carry an umbrella because itβs too hard to carry along with my quad cane. But I have a really nice red raincoat. I have to eat fries that are non-salted. Itβs always a special order, so my fries are always hot!

Sorry to hear that. Praying for you to have an improvement in your health and strength.
Raincoats are nice, too!
It’s good that you’re doing what’s needed with your diet! And hot fries is certainly a plus! God bless you, sister! π

Yes, hopefully. We’re just trying to figure out when to start. π My mom has been trying to figure everything out, so it may be a while….XD

Yes, it is a huge effort to make such a big change. Shopping takes longer, too, if you have to read all the labels instead of mindlessly throwing things that sound good into the cart.

Yeeees. Shopping for diets is always so hard!

Hopefully having the internet will help your mom find things easier if she can look them up from the comfort of her own home. When I started my gluten-free diet, we had the internet, but there were not as many gluten-free products available.

It has some. A while back, we were on several diets (veery strict) and my mom didnβt have as much access to the internet, it was definitely harder.
