Yesterday morning I wrote a blogpost and had stimulating conversation with my college-age son.
I waited till the outside temperature crept slowly up to just under 55 degrees Fahrenheit then donned a fleece sweatshirt and a jacket and went out to work in the nonsunny garden. It felt very satisfying to get that 4-pack of cucumber plants finally transplanted into the garden. I also put a trellis between two transplants and made a tripod teepee structure out of tomato stakes to handle the other two.
At some point during the day I decided to do something about being cold and turned up the heat a couple of degrees.
I also received a special gift from the Lord of being able to talk on the phone with a very special friend that I haven’t heard from in a long time. She said that we should write a children’s book together for her first grandchild, and it took me a couple of seconds for it to register that she had just made a prebirth announcement. Lol! We had a lot of fun talking and laughing together, which is such a blessing!
I also had some wonderful time of communion with the Lord in Psalm 90. Verse 14 says,
“O satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness, That we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.“
We might be going through a night-like situation right now, but morning is coming! And, the lovingkindness of the Lord will so surpassingly satisfy us that it will fill us with joy and put a song in our heart. My hope is in Him, and He will not disappoint!
Today I’m thankful that the garden is shaping up little by little.
I’m thankful for this blogging community, for good conversation with my son, and for a joyous time of fellowship with my friend!
I’m thankful that we still have warm clothes and a heater available to use.
And, I’m especially thankful for times of beautiful communion with the Lord and for His reminders of His faithful love and kindness for us.
I’m thankful that morning comes after the darkest nights.
How about you? How is the Lord showing you His faithful love in daily trials of your life?
