Day 233- Thankful God does not need us to validate Him

God is great and Holy and wonderful; how is it that I so quickly forget that? As much as I’d like to have it all together and have finally succeeded in daily sitting quietly in His presence in worship and remembrance, I still fail. I still forget from time to time how great and wonderful He is. I still forget how unfathomable His greatness and holiness are. I still forget to praise Him and be in awe of Him.

Fortunately, as a child of God by His grace, I can come to Him because of Jesus’ sacrifice and confess that sin and receive His forgiveness.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

It’s a good thing God is not like Tinker Bell in Peter Pan who needed believers to stay alive.

He is and was and always will be the eternal, all-wise God, the Almighty, Holy, great and wonderful God!

Our forgetting Him is our loss. We can never diminish who He is by our unbelief.

Today I’m thankful that God does not need to be validated.

I’m thankful He does not change or become less than when people forget about Him or choose not to believe on Him.

I’m thankful that He remains the same yesterday, today, and forever.

How about you? Do you ever forget how wonderful God is? Aren’t you glad that He doesn’t become less than just because we forget about Him? What is your take away from this lesson?

  1. Oh I too am so thankful that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever! I think that simply being on this earth, human, means that we will forget Him. It seems like I can change by the minute sometimes! But I am so grateful that He always calls me back. Blessings and love to you this week, dear friend!

  2. He remains the same no matter how we tend to forget to praise and think on Him! He also knows our weaknesses and our flesh does this a lot, and He is ever patient with us-just as we are own children. So thankful He knows! 🙌🏼

  3. There are definitely times when it’s easy to forget How wonderful God is. When life doesn’t feel so wonderful and you’ve been going through your Valley for so long it definitely takes some effort to remember how wonderful He is, but it’s so true that He never changes so He will always be wonderful despite how life feels. Thanks for sharing, Ruth. It’s a great reminder to focus on Him always, but to fight for that focus when life gets difficult.
