Day 165- Thankful I can walk

After yesterday’s bout with exhaustion, I was happy to wake up feeling quite a bit better.

I actually took the dog out and pulled a few weeds in the asparagus part of the garden!

The sunshine was great!

I think I subluxated my knee last night, and I was having quite a bit of pain with it this morning. It took a while to work the “kinks” out, but it eventually got better.

I read a great blog by by Minister Aldtric Johnson M.A. called
1) One Way to Remove Generational Curses.

It was so helpful, as I’ve been struggling with sad feelings about my dad not walking in repentance toward God and how that has affected me and my siblings and our extended family.

I never quite understood the importance of confessing someone else’s sin, though Biblical figures like Daniel did so.

So, I tried it with my dad’s and his dad’s sins and found that it set something free in me. I’m not sure how to explain it. It seems to correlate to a youth saying of an errant parent, “I’ll never treat my children like that,” but it takes away the anger and rebellion toward that parent and enables forgiveness.

Hey, maybe God is working some kinks out of my spiritual and emotional “knees”, too! That should help me “walk” better in those realms, as well! 😁

Today I’m thankful that I can walk.

I’m also thankful for forgiveness and how God sets us free to walk with Him!

How about you? Are you thankful that you can walk, even if it may not be with great ease? Is there someone in your family that has passed down pain and sadness and/or other emotional trauma? Please click the link above and prayerfully read through Brother Aldtric Johnson’s post. I think you’ll be glad you did.

  1. Yes, I am thankful I can walk. Seven years ago, I fell from my horse and broke my back. My spinal cord was pinched off like a garden hose from bone fragments. The medical staff did not think that I would walk out of the hospital but praise God, I did! God never let me believe that I wouldn’t walk out, and I know that it is only by His grace that I am able to walk today. I am happy to hear that you are feeling better and hope that your knee feels better soon. 😊

    1. Wow. That had to have been one very difficult ordeal! Did they do surgery on your back?
Praise God! He knows more than the docs and is able to heal! That’s great that He gave you that rock-solid faith that you would walk and that you did walk!
Thank you! Yes, my knee hasn’t bothered me today. It must have popped back in place. I’m on hold with this present virus situation on getting a diagnosis, but my daughter has EDS, and I probably do, too.

  2. Yes, I’m very thankful that I can walk. And thankful for both the days I have energy and don’t. We’re in the same boat on that one, but God is so good to use it all, the good and the not so good. ☺

    1. Thanks!
Asparagus was hard to plant, but after that it wasn’t hard. You have to plant roots, not seeds. I ordered mine from a gardening company. You are supposed to have 18 inches of dirt, so digging was the hard part. I did NOT go down 18 inches; more like 12 inch inches or even less.
It requires full sun, and needs well-drained soil.
It is a perennial. The first year you don’t eat it. You have to let the plants get well established. You only start eating them when they get as thick as what you would buy at the grocery store.
Once the plants got established, I mostly just had to keep weeds pulled. I almost never water it, although I might get an even better harvest if I did.
