Day 180- Thankful to be “in the Lord”

I haven’t been singing as much as I used to. And I’ve been playing piano and guitar even less.

But this morning these words and the music to which I learned them came to mind and kept playing over and over on repeat.

“May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
May the Lord rejoice in His works.
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.” Psalm 104:31,33 NKJV

Maybe I’ll go play it on the piano in a little while, once it’s time for the quiet of the morning to be placed on pause till the next time.

In the meantime:

“May my meditation be sweet to Him;
I will be glad in the Lord.” Psalm 104:34 NKJV

What an amazing thought that my meditation might be sweet to Him! I’m thinking that the next sentence is the key to make that start happening.

“I will be glad in the Lord.”

IN the LORD!!

“Sing for joy IN the LORD, O you righteous ones; Praise is becoming to the upright.” Psalms 33:1 NASB

I’m seated with Him in heavenly places IN Christ Jesus! (Ephesians 2:6)

He surrounds me with His loving, protecting presence!

You have enclosed me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me.” Psalm 139:5 NASB

My being glad to dwell in His presence is sweet to Him. Wow!

So, I’m guessing that practicing the awareness of His presence and praising Him are great places to start! Don’t you think?

Today I’m thankful to be IN the Lord, surrounded by His presence!

I’m thankful to be seated with Him in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

I’m thankful that He sees fit to be pleased with my feeble praises.

I’m thankful that He puts His praises in my heart and mind.

I’m thankful that He gives me a song!

What about you? Do you ever wake up with a song in your heart? What are you praising God for today?

  1. I’m praising God for His provision. We are picking up another grocery order tomorrow and He is providing the funds to buy the things we need. He is good! I wake up with a different song each day, usually one that I just listened to the day before. This morning, I was praising God with “To God Alone”.
