If you’re one of those people who just hates it when someone says, “At least it’s not worse,” I apologize. But in my own life, there are days where I’m struggling, and the thankfulness airplane just can’t seem to make it off the ground. That’s when I resort to this saying for myself.
Last night I was doing research on epilepsy because I think my daughter may have had a few seizures in the last year and a half, and I need to know what to look for, what to do, and what to report to the doctors.
I would prefer to pretend that it’s not a possibility. I would prefer to pray it away. I would prefer to remain in positivity.
But sometimes God requires that we lean into something hard, to experience the difficulties of life so that we can experience the good that He brings out of the hardships, so we can be awed and delighted when we experience the truth of his promises!
As I mentioned in my last post, He truly does make a way where there seems to be no way!
The good news is that He walks through the difficulties of life with me!
Today, I’m thankful that it’s not worse.
I may feel exhausted, but I’m up and typing this message. My daughter may have had seizures, but she’s okay, and at least she doesn’t have them often.
I’m thankful that I get to keep spending time with her and enjoying her witty humor.
This morning I went to wake her up two hours late. Without even opening her eyes, she told me she had only gotten 11 hours of sleep and asked me, couldn’t I turn the clocks back 4 hours? LOL Of course, that’s not happening, but it was a funny thought! (She did get up, by the way, if you were wondering! 😀 )
What about you? Do you have periods of time where you are just thankful that it’s not worse? Do you have days where you have troubles getting out of bed? Are you thankful for another day with the ones you love? How have you experienced God walking through difficulties with you?
Yes! Amen! This is exactly how I feel when the Lord blesses me with another brand new day despite my exhaustion.

I remember having one of the worst cases of the stomach flu of my life, trying to find something to be thankful for through the waves of nausea, but nothing came to me. Finally I had an idea, and I prayed “Thank You ,Lord, that I don’t feel this way all the time!”

I’ve been focusing a lot on perspective lately, so when the tougher times come then it’s important to see it from the other side!! Great post Ruth!!❤️🙏
Prayers for your daughter.

Other side, as in how God sees it? Or Foresight vs. Hindsight? Or are you considering the “it could be worse” to be the other side?
Thank you, Alicia! 💕

As in taking into consideration that there’s still positive to be recognized in the midst of the negative…and the bottom line is that no matter how ugly it gets, the bottom line is that we still have our faith!!❤️🙏

Oh, I see! Yes, for sure!
When I was a teen, we learned a song that said, “Christ is all I need.” I believed it in theory, but the older I get, the more I understand it and believe it by experience and hope that does not disappoint. As long as He is with me, I can make it through ANY storm!
Thanks for your understanding and prayers! 💕

I literally HATE when people tell me this, but it is reassuring when you witness “worse” going on around you. It definitely keeps things in perspective. God needs us to lean on him through all of even our hardest moments. Praying for your daughter ❤️

Phew! Good thing I put that disclaimer up! Lol 😆 I’m glad you are willing to go there anyway. I imagine it’s easier if you come up with it yourself than to have someone else say it to you. Yes, perspective is so important!
I’m so glad that God is strong enough for us to lean on. He will never topple, He will always stand firm!
Thank you so much for your prayers! ❤
